"Life will turn out the way you see it turning out", is a quote by billionaire that Ive been studying and had a fortune of meeting recently.
I believe thats very true. And its also true in business. Your business will turn out the way you see it turning out. As obvious as it may seem for a lot of people, I think that theres a deeper meaning to it. I think that it has to do with your self-image as a businessperson or if youre in sales a salesperson.
Its quiet simple, if you've been brought up in a family where parents didn't earn over fifty thousand dollars a year, your self-image automatically gets programmed for it and will not change until you decide to change it.
This person doesnt see him or herself earning five hundred thousand dollars a year, because thats not the conditioning they received. So they may have a goal of making this much money, or more, but if the mental picture that they carry of themselves, is one of a person making fifty thousand a year, then thats what theyre attracting.
This would happen to each one of us. Your sales are growing, you are earning more money and everything seems perfectly alright. Alas, it stops all of a sudden! What happened here? The drive is gone, it's gone because preprogrammed subconscious mind can't see the existing opportunities to grow the business and earn more money.
Its programmed with a number, and it will do whatever it takes to attract that to you, and once you go over that amount, it will sabotage any opportunities that come your way, until you get back where you belong.
This is known as cognitive dissonance in scientific language and is basically a disharmony between the picture in your subconscious mind and the experienced reality.
Your subconscious mind itself performs the function of solving conflicts like these. Thus, trying to change the picture inside your mind gets your mind to trigger creativity and also energizes it to resolve the conflicts.
When a person starts making more money than the picture they have of themselves, their subconscious mind will sabotage them.
Believe it or not, changing the picture won't get you to work harder. Your efforts to merely change the picture will be enough; the results will just come on their own.
We have a self image for all areas of our life, not just as business people. Be it the image of a sports person, a leader, a follower or that of a man or a woman, the same process applies to all these pictures in our lives.
Here we are talking about the self image that concerns your income. We play several roles in our lives; that of a child, a father or mother, a student, a leader and so on and there is a picture that we have of our self for all these roles. We can change all of these pictures.
As it relates to the self image you have as a businessperson earning certain amount of money, you need to deeply think about the amount of money that you want to make from the business. Further, you need to feel the excitement of making so much money in business.
That is not a negative, but instead it should be a relief to know that youre 100% in control of what you attract and the kind of business you can have, once you understand how your self-image creates your experiences.
