Ever have an automobile with a personality?
Do you believe some mechanical things have consciousness? Our mind may say it is only our imagination, but deep down most of us have given names to our cars and talk to them like they can hear us. Author tried hard to sale his F150 but in vain due to one reason or the other.Finally he reduced the price and sold it but after few weeks he received a certified letter from police department to retrieve his vehicle because he learned that the buyer had never registered the title on his name .Author got his F150 back like a huge bad penny.
On the day all this came down Helena called. I mentioned the surreal history with this truck. What she saw was even more bizarre. Cars have consciousness,. she stated matter-of-factly.
What are you talking about? I retorted in surprise. Helena launched into a detailed explanation of different levels and degrees of personality. Some have only the sort of mechanical consciousness that fits with their level of complexity.Mechanical things can be chosen by more conscious beings to have an experience, a sort of limited incarnation, although the spirit beings have lesser consciousness than one would expect to find in a human body. I said, Ive had conversations with automobiles over the
years, but never two-sided. Usually it comes down to cursing a vehicle with a problem, or pleading with one to start while I'm stranded on the side of the road. At one time I was certain one Volvo I spent a year building from an assortment of parts was possessed of a spirit that refused to be put back on the road.But I never took that idea seriously.
Patiently, Helena explained the world of consciousmachines. She tuned into the F150 and conversed with the spirit inhabiting it. It mattered little that all three of us were in different locations.
It is a female consciousness, she stated. It is a female consciousness, she stated. Very macho. She has a lot of repressed rage, like that of an abused woman. Helena supplied details, fleshing out a history of being treated very badly during her first couple of years by the original
owner. Consistent with the abuse syndrome, ever after she demanded reparation to make up for the ill treatment, but from me rather than the abuser. She would not let go of me because I treated her well, but there never was, nor would be, enough to quench the original damage to the spirits emotions.
That all made sense and explained my history with the truck
to a tee, provided that I suspend my disbelief sufficiently. What can I do about I? I dont want the truck back. I already have a replacement and dont want two trucks again.
I can remove her from the truck and replace her with another being better suited to being in an old pickup, Helena replied, as if that were a simple, rational thing to be doing. OK. Go for it. After a few minutes silence Helena announced the deed was done.
