Where Have All the Good .coms Gone?
The opportunities to create a profitable Internet business are tremendous but with all the people flocking to the Internet it's difficult to find a good domain name anymore isn't it? Certainly all the good .com names are gone and it's getting harder to find .net, .biz, and .org domains too. It won't be long until we're relegated to the dreaded .info domains. Some people actually believe that hype but it's not really true. There are plenty of good .com domains readily available just not as many as there where a short time ago so you may have to put your thinking cap on to come up with just the right domain name. But on the other hand, don't be surprised if you find the ideal domain name quickly. Recently I went shopping for some domain names and was pleasantly surprised at what was available. I created a DVD that shows how to create a DVD without spending a dime. Of course createdvd.com was taken but CreateDVDProduct.com was still available. Then I created a DVD that shows how to create customized DVD & CD covers. This one took a little longer but it wasn't more than a few minutes before I chose DVDnCDCovers.com and there were several other good choices available. Visit either one of those sites to learn more. I have launched "How to Create an Online Video Course" at CreateVideoProduct.com. It didn't take long to find that domain either. Another product I just launched is the 3 volume DVD set "Webmaster Basics for Internet Entrepreneurs" but I have the domain: TheWebmasterBasics.com. These domains might be a little longer than I'd like but they say exactly what the product is and I've already noticed search engine traffic for terms related to creating video products. Unfortunately it's not always this easy. Sooner or later you'll have some trouble finding a good domain name...but only until you use your imagination. You'll often find placing a short word or letter such as "a", "e", "i", or "the" at the beginning. Another trick is to replace the word and with the letter n. You could also replace an "s" with a "z". That's how I came up with BlogCarnivalz.com. The domain still has the keyword phrase "blog carnival" in it. That lump on your neck is full of ideas if you'll just use it. Despite what many might try to tell you, good .com domains are not hard to find.
