Chambers
Greys Anatomy star Justin Chambers is reportedly doing great according to his co-star, James Pickens Jr. Chambers had voluntarily entered the psych ward of the UCLA Medical Center late last month, to seek treatment for exhaustion and a sleep disorder.
Chambers checked himself into the same facility where troubled pop singer, Britney Spears was also getting treatment until she left against doctors orders. The Greys Anatomy actor was only admitted for two days, after which he left and has allegedly been fine since.
"I spoke with Justin once I'd heard about him checking himself in, and he's doing great," Pickens, who plays Dr. Richard Webber on Grey's Anatomy, told TV Guide. "He said, 'I'm good. I just needed to get some rest.'"
Another Greys Anatomy star, Chandra Wilson, also remarked on Chambers decision to check into UCLAs psych facility.
"We are on a break, so we have some time to take care of things that need to be taken care of, and everybody's got to take care of their health, Wilson said. You run yourself down and the next thing you know you're really tired. That's just human."
Chambers was fortunate that his need for quality rest took place in the middle of the three-month long writers strike. The scribes walkout, which commenced early in November 2007, interrupted production on Greys Anatomy, along with practically the rest of primetime television. The strike appears to be nearing its end, with the recent agreement forged between the guild and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.
According to reports, Greys Anatomy will be among several ABC shows set to resume production in March, once the writers walkout is finally resolved. For now, fans can catch reruns of the show every Friday on ABC. As for Justin Chambers, Pickens also said that his co-star is currently in Arizona with his wife Keisha and their five children.
