Samsung SyncMaster 2253BW is an outstanding monitor.
Pros:
- picture quality is unsurpassed.
- installation of the stand is a breeze and takes less than 2 minutes
- no dead pixels upon arrival
- glossy black looks very nice
- 3 year warranty
Cons:
- menu buttons are in awkward position (but this is not a big issue at all)

I have owned another Samsung monitor for over a year and it's still working great. This monitor was easy to unpack and install onto my husband's SLI gaming computer. I have not seen him since..... The three year warranty, price and crisp picture were the main selling points for me.

Samsung has surpassed Sony in the monitor/TV wars; and we are seeing quality products from both teams. I ordered the 22 inch monitor in with a piano black finish. The Samsung arrived with not a single dead pixel, and the color/resolution was striking. Software set-up and configuration was easy, and their web site is well designed to secure driver downloads.
Adjustment controls on the front of the monitor are a bit confusing and could use improvement; otherwise this product would receive 5 stars.
