This has been a great investment. We have owned now for over a year with no problems. I also got my hands on loads of movies from: http://mix-max-movies.synthasite.com/ Great for car or plane rides. It's used by both a 5 and 10 year old, so it accomodates a huge age range.
Good deal December 1, 2008 Flavia V. F. Oliveira (Brazil)
For the price it's a good deal. You have to be good with computers to convert the videos though.

We got the white tinkerbell model because it was on sale. I like the Windows Media player program. It works perfectly. It's one of the few things that does work well on my computer. I couldn't get the software to load for the mix max, but it is a computer problem, not the mix max. I was still able to just load up an sd card with hundreds of songs using Windows Media player. I have a car with a cassette player, so I use an adapter to play the mix max in the car thru the cassette deck and it works great too. I've loaded an sd card with my music and another one with music for my grandchild who rides in my car daily and she likes to hear her own "tunes"
Not the best, but pretty good May 16, 2008 Alejandro E. Mejia (College Station, TX USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It does get a bit getting used to. I bought this on sale because it had the SD card capability. I have run into some problems though. The manual states you can expand it with up to a 2gb card. The problem is that, the larger the card, the longer the device takes to read it when you insert it or turn it on. At 2GB, it takes up to a couple of min. My sister has one with a 512MB card & it takes considerably shorter. The screen does freeze from time to time, but it's not a very serious problem. The clock is completely unreliable, but personally, I didn't buy it for the clock, but for the music. However, it does have some advantages. I found the software online to modify your own videos, and have been able to encode my own collection of music videos to put into it. The screen is larger than most players & the quality is usually acceptable. It has withstood several drops & still works, so I can personally vouch for the durability. Considering the price, along with a small investment in an SD card, it makes a good mp3 player. I use it as my everyday mp3 player, and I'm very pleased with it. I bought my sister one in purple & she likes it too.
Disney MP3 January 9, 2008 LaTonya Blassingame (TN)
The product is great and arrived within 4 days with standard delivery. My daughter enjoyed this gift. Only thing I don't like about it personally, is that it charges through a USB cord instead of an outlet on the wall.
